A body believed to be that of a missing man has been discovered near Lamberhurst.

Although formal identification has not yet taken place, officers say they have informed the family of Chris Wright, who was reported missing on Thursday, January 2.

Police had information that Mr Wright may have been intending to go to Bewl Water

The body was found at around 8pm last night.

Officers attended the area with the South East Coast Ambulance Service and the man was confirmed dead at the scene.
