A Kent pub has stopped selling Russian vodka because of the ongoing conflict in Ukraine.

The King William IV pub in Pembury is boycotting the drink, and replacing it instead with a Ukrainian vodka called Nemrioff.

The watering hole in Hastings Road will be banning all Russian products from its venue.

A statement from the pub said: "We usually keep political chat to our lovely customers holding a drink at the bar. But, we cannot ignore what’s happening, so as a small gesture of solidarity we have taken the decision, along with many others, that we will no longer sell Russian Vodka, or Russian anything for that matter.

"In fact we are delighted to announce we have managed to source an excellent Ukrainian Vodka called Nemiroff - it’s on order and will be pouring with us from next week.

"Be sure to plan a visit and maybe enjoy a Ukrainian vodka along with your usual tipple for a while."

The gesture comes as people from around the county band together to help support people in Ukraine in anyway possible.

Tonbridge mechanic Arthur Smith is raising thousands of pounds to take a convoy of vehicles to the country with paramedics, doctors and medical supplies.
