A primary school in Tunbridge Wells which closed down after a member of staff tested positive for coronavirus has reopened.

Temple Grove Academy on Friars Way welcomed back students on July 1 after closing for just under a week.

The school made the decision to close on July 25 to seek advice from Public Health England after the staff member tested positive.

Certain class bubbles are now back in the classroom while one from year five is still self isolating.

In a statement on the school's website, consultant headteacher Isabel Ramsay said: "Temple Grove will re-open for the following bubbles. Reception 9.00am to 12.30pm enter Greggs Wood Road, year one 9.30am to 2.30pm enter Friars Way - both bubbles, year six 9.00am to 2.30pm enter Friars Way - both bubbles, year five Mrs Jaques bubble only 8.00am to 3.15pm enter via Greggs Wood Road. Mrs Knipe’s bubble 8.00am to 3.15pm enter via Friars Way.

"The other year five Bubble is self-isolating and will return on Thursday July 9."

Other schools in the county have also seen positive cases of Covid-19 since reopening. A teaching assistant and pupil tested positive at Ifield School in Gravesend in May, and a child from St Francis' Catholic Primary School in Maidstone was confirmed to have the virus last month.
