Two men from South London that were arrested on suspicion of dealing drugs in Tunbridge Wells have been remanded in custody pending a court hearing.

Axel Harvey, 20, and Jude Ogunloye, 19, were arrested by plain-clothed officers from Kent Police at 11am on Wednesday, September 24 in Church Road, Tunbridge Wells.

They were taken into custody to enable further inquiries and evidence-gathering to take place, and were charged the next day.

Kent Police has been to court to ask for more time to probe election expenses

Kent Police Chief Inspector Dave Pate, district commander for Tunbridge Wells, said: "Drug dealing is still blighting the community in Tunbridge Wells.

"Kent Police takes this issue very seriously and the charging and remand of two London men on suspicion of supplying drugs in our town is evidence of this.

"I also want to compliment my colleagues who worked hard over several days to secure evidence to support these charges."

On Thursday, September 25, Harvey and Ogunloye both appeared at Maidstone Magistrates Court charged with supplying heroin under the Misuse of Drugs Act. They have been remanded in custody.
