Staff and customers of an electrical retailer branch in Kent recently offered their messages of good luck and support to a British Armed Forces team taking part in the inaugural Invictus Games in London next month.

The Tunbridge Wells branch of YESSS Electrical was the latest to sign a giant sized good luck card that has been touring the country with staff from the Yorkshire-based branch - which is the official supporter of the Invictus Games.

The staff want to gather as many messages of support for the British Armed Forces team due to take part in the games which are an international sporting event championed by Prince Harry.

The card started its journey from the YESSS headquarters in Normanton and is currently travelling to a number of different branches across the country, where staff and customers will have the opportunity to offer their good luck messages to the team before it arrives in London for its final stop.

It will be presented to the British Armed Forces team ahead of the opening ceremony on Wednesday, September 10.

"Taking the good luck card on a tour across the country will allow the entire organisation to get involved and give them the opportunity to offer their sentiments of good luck to the team" - Andy Singleton

Amongst the signatures will be a message from Sir Keith Mills, Chairman of the Invictus Games who attended the YESSS Electrical sitting volleyball tournament last month.

Andy Singleton, one of the founding directors of YESSS said: “The entire YESSS organisation is fully behind the Invictus Games and we wanted to demonstrate this by presenting the British Armed Forces team taking part with something which would show our appreciation and offer words of support and encouragement ahead of the Games.

"Taking the good luck card on a tour across the country will allow the entire organisation to get involved and give them the opportunity to offer their sentiments of good luck to the team."

The Invictus Games presented by Jaguar Land Rover will take place in London from Wednesday, September 10 – Sunday, September 14 and will see more than 400 competitors from 14 nations compete in nine sports.

The Royal Foundation of The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge and Prince Harry, in partnership with the Ministry of Defence, launched the Invictus Games, presented by Jaguar Land Rover, earlier this year.
