Zoodikers, a PR and social media agency based in Tunbridge Wells, has been awarded the Gold Standard by Youth Employment UK in recognition of being a youth friendly business.
The Youth Friendly accreditation is awarded to organisations which support young people and are dedicated to reducing the number not in education, employment or training.
Zoodikers, in the Lower Pantiles, exceeded on all 8 youth-friendly behaviour requirements, including commitment to activities providing youth support in the local community.
Katie King, managing director, said: “I am extremely pleased Zoodikers has been recognised as a Youth Friendly organisation.
“As somebody who was lucky enough to receive encouragement from a supportive family and inspiring teachers, it’s important for myself and for Zoodikers to ‘giveback’ to the community.
“We hope to motivate and enthuse young people into thinking about their first steps on the career ladder and reduce the level of young people not in education, employment or training.”
In addition to Project STEP, Katie King is working alongside Inspiring Futures to provide secondary school pupils in Kent with careers advice for entering the PR industry and guidance on making suitable career choices.
Laura-Jane Rawlings, CEO of Youth Employment UK, added: “I am delighted that Zoodikers applied for the Youth Friendly badge, it is clear that the organisation has a real passion for supporting young people and indeed promoting its sector as an exciting career choice.
“It is an excellent example of what a business can do to support young people by offering careers talks and opportunities to gain necessary skills for work.”
