Police revisited the scene of a serious sexual assault in Tunbridge Wells on Sunday evening in a bid to track down the attacker.
At 6pm last Sunday, November 8, a woman in her twenties was sexually assaulted as she walked in The Common, off Major York’s Road.
Exactly a week on, detectives from the major crime team returned to the area with uniformed officers to speak to residents.
A baseball cap found close to where the attack happened is believed to belong to the suspect and police have released a pictures of it, hoping members of the public might recognise it and come forward with any relevant information.
The suspect is described as a white man, in his 30s, about 6ft tall who was wearing a navy blue top and dark coloured trousers. It is likely he will have scratches on his face.
Officers are also still looking for the victim’s iPhone 4, which was in a red case and was dropped at the scene.
District Chief Inspector Dave Pate said: "Lots of people have regular routines that would take them through the same parts of town at the same times each week; dog walkers, people on their way to or from work, or people who exercise in the area for example.
No arrests were made as a result of Sunday’s visit and the investigation is continuing.
