A homeless man is in police custody after allegedly carrying out a racially aggravated assault on a man at Tunbridge Wells railway station.
The attack is reported to have happened at 7am this morning outside Torrington car park as the victim walked towards the station entrance. He was punched and verbally abused.
A 35-year-old man of no fixed address was arrested in Five Ways at 7.20am, on suspicion of assault. He remains in custody.
Sergeant Richard Pringle at Kent Police, said: "This started outside the train station but it is alleged the offender then followed the victim into the station booking hall and continued to act in an aggressive manner.
"We are appealing to any witnesses, both inside and outside the train station, to contact us."
