BMW stolen linked to four other thefts

POLICE are linking a car theft to four other incidents in the same area.

A black BMW 118 car was taken from the driveway of a house at Woodland Way, Bidborough, near Tunbridge Wells.

The theft happened on January 10 and 11, between 11pm and 8am.

It is possible that thieves took the car keys from inside the house by hooking them through the letterbox.

Police are investigating whether this theft is linked to four incidents where books, cash and a laptop were stolen from cars parked in nearby roads during the same time.

Sgt Pete Heaton from Tunbridge Wells neighbourhood police, said: "It is timely to remind motorists not to leave items of value in their vehicles and to ensure they put car keys away in a secure place out of sight from doors and windows."

Police are also appealing for information about the theft of a black Nissan Navara pick-up from the driveway of a house at Irving Way, Swanley, on January 12 and 13, between 10pm and 8am.

Anyone with any information on both incidents is asked to contact police on 01732 379217 or Kent Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
