Police searching for a missing man say a body has been found.

Charles Young, 55, left his home in Brenchley, near Tonbridge, at 6am yesterday to travel to Sandhurst in Berkshire.

He was expected back by about 10am but did not return, and his car was later discovered not far from his address.

Today officers carrying out enquiries were informed by Sussex Police of a report of a body found near Eastbourne.

The death is not being treated as suspicious and Mr Young's family have been informed.

The coroner has been notified.
