Boy injured in bicycle chain attack

POLICE investigating an assault on a boy of 15 near a Kent railway station are appealing for anyone who witnessed the incident to contact them.

The incident occurred close to High Brooms Railway Station, near Tunbridge Wells, just before 5pm on Monday, October 15.

The boy, who was with three friends, was hit across the head with a bicycle chain by another boy on a bike.

The culprit was with a small group of people. The victim needed medical treatment.

Police believe there are witnesses to the assault as the traffic was only moving slowly in the area at the time and there were pedestrians in the area.

A boy has been arrested and subsequently given police bail in connection with the assault, pending further inquiries.
