A busy A-road was blocked in both directions after a car transporter lorry crashed into a bridge.
The vehicle struck the railway bridge on the A26 Eridge Road, Tunbridge Wells at around 4.15pm yesterday.
An eyewitness told KentOnline: “The impact was so severe that a car that was on the top deck of the transporter came completely off the lorry and landed on the road under the bridge.”
The car can be seen overturned in the road.
It is understood that a vehicle following the lorry also suffered damage.
Ambulance crews were called to the scene but say they “stood down” prior to arrival.
No injuries were reported.
A police spokesperson said: “Patrols attended the scene where no injuries were reported and arrangements were made to recover the transporter and the vehicles it was carrying.”
Fire crews also attended to deal with a fuel leak.
