A fire has prompted a safety reminder to get chimneys swept.
Firefighters responded to a blaze at a property in Sand Lane, Frittenden, at 2.20pm today.
Crews discovered the fire in the base of the chimney just above the solid fuel log burner, which they extinguished using chimney equipment and a hose.
KFRS Area Manager for Customer Safety, Colin King, said: "It's around this time of year that we start to see chimney fires as people start lighting their open fires in their homes again.
"If you use an open fire or wood burning stove, please make sure to have your chimney swept regularly.
"It's easy to overlook the fact that a build-up of soot and ash left over from previous fires can lead to the chimney catching alight, presenting a real risk to your home and family.
"Why not sign up to our free clean sweep alert service for an extra reminder?"
It is recommended that those using wood fuel get chimneys swept twice a year and once a year for coal fires.
