Firefighters have put out a blaze which erupted in a kitchen.
Two fire engines were called to a home in Liptraps Lane, Tunbridge Wells at around 9.45am today.
The fire started in the grill and spread to the washing machine.
Fortunately the kitchen door was closed which stopped the flames spreading through the building.
The resident went to hospital after being found outside suffering with the effects of smoke inhalation when crews arrived.
The fire was extinguished within half an hour.
Firefighters are now highlighting the importance of keeping the cooker, grill and oven clean to avoid a build up of grease and fat, which can increase the chance of a fire starting.
