A documentary about a necrophiliac double killer who committed atrocious crimes in Kent will air tonight.

The first episode of the two-part series David Fuller: Monster in the Morgue, will start on Sky Documentaries at 9pm.

Fuller was given two life sentences in December 2021 for the historic murders of Wendy Knell and Caroline Pierce at their Tunbridge Wells homes in 1987.

The double murderer also filmed himself sexually abusing the bodies of more than 100 women and girls at hospital mortuaries.

After being linked to the murders in 2020, police uncovered the systematic sexual abuse of the corpses of women and girls aged between nine and 100 at the now-closed Kent and Sussex Hospital and the Tunbridge Wells Hospital, in Pembury, where Fuller had worked in maintenance since 1989.

An examination of Fuller’s computer hard drive at his home in Heathfield, East Sussex, revealed more than 800,000 images and 504 videos of his abuse as well as evidence of his “persistent interest in rape, abuse and murder of women”.

As well as the two whole life sentences for the murders of Caroline and Wendy, Fuller was sentenced to 12 years in respect of sexual offences against 78 deceased females at the hospital mortuaries.

A year later, Fuller was also sentenced at the Old Bailey for further charges relating to sexual offences committed in a mortuary setting.

An investigation by Kent and Essex Serious Crime Directorate provided evidence of a further 23 victims, bringing the total to 101 deceased females abused between 2005 and 2020.

Fuller was sentenced to four more years in prison after pleading guilty to sexually abusing the bodies of the further 23 women, 10 of whom have never been identified.

The first episode of the docuseries is titled ‘Murder in Bedsit Land’, with the second, ‘The Invisible Man’, airing next Wednesday (June 7), at 9pm.
