Firefighters were called to a flat after a blaze started in a bedroom.
It happened in Hungershall Park, Tunbridge Wells, and two crews attended just after 2pm today.
They used hose reel jets to put out the flames, before using a smoke curtain to stop the fire from spreading any further.
A high pressured fan was also used to get rid of the smoke in the flat.
Members of Kent Fire and Rescue Services volunteer response team were sent to the scene to provide support for affected residents.
No injuries were reported and the cause is believed to be accidental.
