Jury discharged in trial of David Squelch, accused of murdering James Wallington at Tunbridge Wells recycling depot

A jury has been discharged after failing to reach a verdict in the trial of a man accused of murdering his colleague.

Deliberations have been taking place over the past two days in the case of David Squelch, who is charged with the murder of James Wallington.

But today, Judge Adele Williams ordered a re-trial after the foreman revealed the panel could not make a unanimous or majority decision.

Squelch allegedly stabbed James Wallington to death at Cory Environmental Ltd recycling centre in North Farm Lane in March.

The 48-year-old, of Maidstone Road, Paddock Wood, denied murdering the much-loved father.

The re-trial is due to take place in March.
