Police are investigating the alleged shooting of a former Kent man in Florida.

It is reported British ex-pat Paul Winter, who was originally from Tunbridge Wells, was shot several times in front of his wife Jennifer and her seven-year-old twins on Friday.

According to the Miami Herald, Cristobal Palacio has been charged with first degree murder and is due to appear in court on Monday, November 17.

The Foreign Office has been informed and is providing assistance to the family.
