Shop workers in Tunbridge Wells were verbally abused and and one had a set of knives thrown at them.
CCTV images have now been issued by officers investigating the incident, which happened at Poundland in Grosvenor Road on March 14, at around 10.20am, after a man and woman tried to buy a set of knives.
It is reported that after being asked for identification they became abusive, shouting and swearing at the store’s employees.
The man is alleged to have thrown the set of knives at one member of staff and also spat on a screen in front of the checkouts, in the direction of the staff member.
Homophobic comments are said to have been made as well as threats to assault the victim.
The woman is also reported to have used abusive and homophobic language and spat towards the same member of staff.
Police arrived shortly after but despite a search of the area were unable to locate the suspects.
Officers have now issued CCTV images of two people they would like to identify and speak to.
