A hoax call is thought to have sparked a major emergency response to a main road in Tunbridge Wells this morning.
Police, fire crews and the ambulance service were all called to Camden Road in the town at around 8.30am.
A cordon was put in place for around half an hour before being lifted later in the morning.
A police spokeswoman said: "Officers were called to an address in Camden Road, Tunbridge Wells at 8.20am on November 25 with concerns regarding a distressed man.
"Enquiries were made in the area and it is believed the call was a hoax."
Witnesses reported seeing at least two fire engines, two police cars and two ambulances in the area and a large number of onlookers from nearby shops.
Kent Fire and Rescue Service said it was called to assist South East Coast Ambulance Service but left just after 9am.
