Man arrested after stabbing in Upper Grosvenor Road, Tunbridge Wells

A man has been arrested in connection with a stabbing near a busy town centre.

Police were called to reports of a serious assault in Upper Grosvenor Road, Tunbridge Wells yesterday.

Officers and paramedics arrived at the scene shortly after 1.20pm where a man was taken to a London hospital with injuries consistent with stab wounds.

He remains in hospital where his condition is described as stable.

Earlier today a man was arrested in connection with the incident and taken into custody.

A police cordon was put in place for much of the day along Upper Grosvenor Road, around the Meadow Road car park.

Forensics officers were also spotted at the scene and the incident caused a large traffic backlog through the town.

A suspect has now been arrested following inquiries and police are urging witnesses to come forward.
