A man has been charged with hate crimes after reportedly launching racial attacks on a parking warden and hospital staff.
At around 3.30pm on Thursday, a police officer and police community support officer attended Camden Road, Tunbridge Wells, following a report of a traffic officer being racially abused, threatened and assaulted.
A suspect was detained and taken to a local hospital for medical attention. While there it is alleged he made racist remarks at medical staff and acted aggressively towards the officers who had accompanied him.
Kevin Davis, of Albert Street, Tunbridge Wells was later charged with racially aggravated assault, assault by beating, assaulting an emergency worker and four public order offences.
The 56-year-old was remanded in custody to appear before Medway Magistrates’ Court on Friday.
