POLICE have arrested a 21-year-old man on suspicion of the murder of Kent teenager Terry Edmonds whose body was found concealed in a suitcase.

The man was being held for questioning at a police station in the county.

It is the third arrest since Terry’s body was found in a dark green suitcase on Saturday afternoon near the entrance to Morrison’s car park in Vale Avenue, Tunbridge Wells. Detectives say the suspect lives locally.

Two other men were arrested at the weekend and later released without charge.

Terry, who was 17 and lived in Tunbridge Wells, had been strangled. It is also believed she had been sexually assaulted.

Community officers have been distributing posters in the town as the appeal for information continues.

A mobile police station has been placed between the lower level of Tunbridge Wells railway station and Morrison’s supermarket. It is open between 8am and 10pm for people to talk to police.

Forensic examinations are continuing around the area where Terry’s body was found.

There are now more than 50 officers and staff working on the inquiry.

Police want anyone who saw anything unusual or suspicious in the Vale Avenue area or anyone who may have seen Terry on or after Easter Monday, when she was last seen alive, to contact them.
