A 57-year-old man had to have reconstructive surgery to repair a broken jaw after he was set upon by three people in what police are treating as an unprovoked assault.
The victim was walking home with two other people on a pathway at Mount Ephraim, Tunbridge Wells, when they were approached by two men and a woman who attacked him and his companions.
The man, who is from Tunbridge Wells, is now out of hospital.
PC Jon Baker said: "This man has been the victim of what appears to be an unprovoked attack. I am sure other people were walking in the area at the same sort of time."
Two men, aged 25 and 31, and a 22-year-old woman were arrested and later bailed in connection with the assault.
