A man was thrown from a vehicle during a crash in the early hours.
Two fire engines were sent to deal with the accident, involving four cars, in Longfield Road, Tunbridge Wells.
It happened at about 12.10am.
A Kent Fire and Rescue Service spokesman said: "There were no people trapped in the vehicles, but one car was on fire and a male passenger in his early 20s needed medical attention due to being thrown from his vehicle during the crash.
"Firefighters gave the man first aid and treated a woman in her 50s with oxygen therapy due to her suffering from shock.
"Both casualties received welfare and emotional support from crews before paramedics arrived."
Firefighters worked with paramedics to transfer the man into an ambulance before he was taken to a London hospital, he added.
Crews extinguished the car fire and made the area safe before leaving at about 1.30am.
Police were also called to close the road and remove an oil spillage. It was reopened at 7am.
