A 51-year-old man who was reported missing last week was found hanged at a hotel, a court has heard.
Gary Offley, of Lewes, East Sussex, had not been seen since Saturday, October 12, and a search was launched.
However, the solution architect, who was born in Billericay, Essex, was discovered dead in a hotel in Tunbridge Wells the following day, an inquest opening at the Archbishop's Palace in Maidstone was told.
A police spokesman said earlier this week: "Our thoughts are with his family and friends at this difficult time."
A full inquest was adjourned until a later date.
