The death of a woman which sparked a murder investigation is now being treated as non-suspicious.
Police were called to Lady's Gift Road, Southborough, at 6pm on Tuesday after the body of a woman in her late 50s, named locally as Gillian Hamilton-Ritchie, was found.
Officers sealed off the property and arrested a man, aged in his 60s who was known to Mrs Hamilton-Ritchie, on suspicion of murder.
But this morning police confirmed he had been released without charge and the death of Mrs Hamilton-Ritchie, previously of Willington Street, Maidstone, is now being treated as non-suspicious.
A spokesman added: "Kent Police is awaiting further medical reports and will then, if necessary, prepare a report for the coroner."
Mrs Hamilton-Ritchie lived at The Bungalows with her husband Edward and was reported by neighbours to have been ill for a while.
