Queues are expected for the opening of Wilko's new Tunbridge Wells store, with the promise of free food mixers for the first 50 customers through the doors.

The next 50 people will receive a £5 gift card and other products as the giveaway continues.

The home and garden retailer will launch in Royal Victoria Place at 9am on Wednesday, with cllr David Neve to attend the ceremonial ribbon cutting.

A tombola will also be run with 60 pries up for grabs and a £100 Wilko gift card, while a speed sketcher will entertain shoppers.

Branch manager Chris Evans said: “The team is busy preparing the final touches to the store ahead of the official opening on August 24.

“We've got lots of exciting things planned for the launch day including giveaways and competitions so we hope everyone can come and join us to celebrate Wilko's new home in Tunbridge Wells.”
