Two men have been attacked, one seriously, by a gang in Tunbridge Wells.

It happened in the early hours of Sunday and now police have arrested four teenagers in connection with the assault.

The victims were walking home in Mount Pleasant Road about 3.45am when a group of up to 10 men started following and shouting at them near a pedestrian crossing. They were then approached and assaulted.

One of the two victims suffered serious injuries, which are not life threatening, and was taken to a local hospital

An 18-year-old man and a 17-year-old from Tonbridge, are currently in custody having been arrested on suspicion of assault today.

A further two men, both 18 and also from Tonbridge, were arrested on Monday afternoon and have been bailed, pending further inquiries, until April 27.

Detective Inspector Simon Davy said: "This is a report we are taking extremely seriously and we are grateful to everyone who has shared information with us.

"It has helped us identify and arrest four suspects. That being said, we are still keen to hear from anyone who has information on the incident but has not yet spoken with us."
