A Post Office in Tunbridge Wells has been closed due to a suspected gas emergency.
A Southern Gas Network (SGN) van has been seen outside the site in Grosvenor Road.
It was called after a member of the public became concerned about a smell in the area.
No customers are being allowed inside.
An SGN spokesperson said: "We were called to the Post Office in Tunbridge Wells at lunchtime today following a report of a smell of gas.
"A member of the public had done the right thing by calling the National Gas Emergency Number on 0800 111 999.
"Our engineer is currently on site and carrying out safety checks.
