Ram-raiders target another bank

POLICE are searching for three men after a digger was used in yet another ram-raid on a bank in the county.

This time a cash machine was stolen from the Co-Op store in Silverdale Road at Tunbridge Wells. The incident happened at around 3am on Tuesday. It is not yet known how much money was taken.

Police say the digger was left abandoned at the scene. They have set up a telephone hotline to catch those responsible for a number of ram raids in both Kent and East Sussex in recent months.

On Sunday, a gang tried unsuccessfully to remove a machine from a bank in Wadhurst on the Sussex-Kent border. Recently, three banks in Gillingham town centre were targeted on the same night.
