A man killed in a suspected hit-and-run incident has been named by police.
Accomplished musician and former teacher Ollie Nicholls, 41, was found lying in the street at Mount Ephraim, Tunbridge Wells with multiple injuries in the early hours of Sunday morning and died in hospital later.
Police later confirmed he had been struck by a car. An inquest into the death of Mr Nicholls, of The Lane, Fordcombe, near Tunbridge Wells has been opened and adjourned.
He moved to Kent with his family at the age of four and attended Shipbourne Primary School and Judd School in Tonbridge.
In a statement, his family said: "Over the years, he had become well-known and respected musician, singer, composer and sound engineer.
"With his father, also a professional musician, he established a recording studio at the family home in Fordcombe, used by many top recording artists and composers.
"He also taught Music Technology at Tonbridge School for several years."
His family added: "He had worked with a large number of artists in just about every musical genre including Bert Jansch, Clare Teal, Herbie Flowers, Jacqui Dankworth and Tim van Eyken, and he toured with the world music outfit, Incantation, during a seven year period."
He lived at the family home in Fordcombe with his parents, sister and her family.
Police continue to investigate the cause of his death. A man and a woman have been arrested and bailed.
