A Tunbridge Wells road which was closed during the dramatic flooding this week has now been re-opened.
Silverdale Lane Road was shut when a man hole cover collapsed on Monday. It was badly affected by the heavy rainfall and a number of homes in the surrounding area suffered damage.
Emergency services and Tunbridge Wells Borough Council have assessed the situation and the road has now been re-opened by Kent County Council's highways department.
Council teams spent all of yesterday supporting those affected by the floods and arranging emergency accommodation.
A spokesman said: "Tunbridge Wells Borough Council’s role in a situation like the flooding that we saw this week is to support the front line emergency services and support people affected by the incident.
"We have an emergency planner on duty at all times and last night we called together a small team of staff who helped coordinate the Council’s response which included organising clean up teams and liaising with flood wardens around the borough."
The council received a number of reports of dead rats floating in the water near Great Hall and sent teams to deal with the issue as quickly as possible.
Officers have also delivered sandbags to a number of locations across the town in preparation for further heavy rainfall predicted today.
The council spokesman said emergency staff will remain on duty over the next couple of days to monitor the situation.
