A school in Tunbridge Wells describes the 'great sadness' felt over the loss of one of its student who died last week.
The body of teenager Matthew Mackell was discovered in Dunorlan Park, on Pembury Road in the early hours of Thursday morning.
Officers attended alongside paramedics and the year 12 pupil was declared dead at the scene.
In a letter to parents and pupils, executive principal of Skinners' Kent Academy, Dr Hilary Macaulay, said Matthew represented everything the academy stands for and values.
"Matthew was a very popular student with his peers and staff alike and enjoyed taking part in academy ski trips. He had a genuine sense of what was just and fair and a keen interest in business and financial management.
"The academy is in contact with Matthew’s family and we will continue to keep in touch and to support them. His father has asked that I stress to you all that, if anyone feels they need to talk through anything at all in their lives that is worrying them, to please talk to someone and not keep it to themselves.
"We are aware that this will be upsetting for students at the academy. The particular situation we are faced with, both as a country and a community with schools currently closed, also makes bringing together our students at this time more challenging.
"Academy staff are on hand as well as our colleagues from the Educational Psychology Service to ensure that we provide appropriate, ongoing support to those affected. If you have concerns or feel that your child needs support, please do not hesitate to contact the academy.
"Our thoughts are with Matthew’s family and the whole academy community sends them our deepest heartfelt condolences and support at this incredibly sad time."
Flowers and cards tributes have been left at the scene.
