Second report of fake police car on Pembury bypass near Tunbridge Wells

There has been another sighting of the fake police on the Pembury bypass.

The Kent Messenger reported on Monday that a man had taken to Facebook after being approached by a car with blue flashing lights on the A228 last Wednesday, August 17.

Kent Police have now confirmed that they have received two reports about this vehicle.

A spokesman said: "Kent Police has received two reports stating that a vehicle had been seen acting suspiciously in Pembury Road, near Tunbridge Wells, between 10pm and 11.15pm on Wednesday 17 August.

"It was reported that a car had been seen on that stretch of road with flashing blue lights.

"There are no reports of the vehicle pulling anyone over and approaching them, or attempting to pull motorists over, nor have any similar reports been received.

"Officers have conducted enquiries into this but the vehicle has not been located. The vehicle was not an unmarked Kent Police vehicle."

The car is said to be a silver Volkswagen Golf, with a 53 reg.

If anyone is concerned about an unmarked vehicle which is trying to stop them, and that the occupants are not police officers, call 999.
