Five women and a man have been arrested after activists stormed a slaughterhouse in Tunbridge Wells.
Campaigners arrived at Forge Farm Meats in Southborough in the early hours of this morning and said they intended to remain inside the building and blockade the killing of animals for as long as possible.
The anonymous group, referred to only as "some human accomplices in the fight against speciesism", issued a statement earlier today in which they outlined their intentions.

The activists said they would be willing to abandon the blockade if all animals due for slaughter are sent elsewhere, and if their own safety and freedom was promised, "without charges and without personal details".
A Kent Police spokesman said: "Five women have been arrested on suspicion of aggravated trespass and a man on suspicion of aiding and abetting aggravated trespass at a business in Tunbridge Wells.
"Kent Police was called at 3.35am on Tuesday, August 27, to reports of a protest at the premises in Powder Mill Lane and officers attended to speak to those involved.
"The women and man remain in police custody while enquiries continue at the scene."
