A 27-year-old soldier from Kent has appeared in court accused of male rape at an Army barracks as well as a number of sex offences against a child.
Cpl David Thomas, of North Farm Road, Tunbridge Wells, appeared before magistrates in Cambridge accused of raping a male aged over 16 at Bassingbourn Barracks, near Cambridge, last December.
Thomas is also charged with sexually assaulting a male "aged 13 or over" at the barracks. He is further accused of 11 sex offences against a boy aged between 13 and 15 in Tunbridge Wells between 2001 and 2004.
The case was adjourned and transferred to Cambridge Crown Court for Thomas to appear on Friday. He was released on bail.
