DETECTIVES investigating the murder of teenager Terry Edmonds have released pictures of the dark green suitcase used to conceal her body.
Police say the suitcase, which has brown trim, was seen close to Tunbridge Wells railway station one week after the 17-year-old went missing on Easter Monday.
Terry, who was 17 and lived in Tunbridge Wells, was last seen alive near the train station at around 6.20pm on 17 April.
It is thought this suitcase was spotted by a passer-by in Station Approach on April 24. Officers believe the case may have been moved around and want to hear from anyone who may have seen it.
Chief Supt Mark Salisbury, the area commander for West Kent, said: "The suitcase has brown trim and a handle and wheels so it can be pulled along. It stands around two and a half feet high, one and a half feet wide and nine inches deep.
"We think this case may have been moved around, so it is possible someone saw it in the area around the station or close by where it was eventually found near the entrance to Morrison’s car park in Vale Avenue.
"It could have been in various places around the town centre and may have been left on rough ground or in open spaces."
Terry’s body was found inside the suitcase on the afternoon of Saturday, April 29 at te entrance to the Morrisons supermarket car park. She had been strangled and sexually assaulted.
Detectives are continuing to question a 21-year-old local man who was arrested in connection with the inquiry on Thursday.
About 50 police officers and staff are working on the investigation.
