Thousands of pounds worth of cocaine has been seized by police.

Drug dealer Ionut Stoica's Mercedes was pulled over in London Road, Tunbridge Wells in October after he was spotted acting suspiciously.

Officers found 18 wraps of Class A drugs along with £705 in cash.

The 18-year-old was arrested and police searched his home in Eltham, where they found another 82 wraps.

His phone showed a list of postcodes for prospective 'customers'.

Officers estimate the 100 wraps were worth between £4,000 and £6,000 altogether.

Stoica was charged with possessing cocaine with intent to supply and with possession or control of identity documents with intent (in relation to a false driving licence.)

He pleaded guilty at Maidstone Magistrates Court on Thursday and was sentenced to two years and six months in a young offenders’ institution.

Sgt Ed Kavanagh of the Tunbridge Wells Community Policing Team said: "Stoica was arrested as a result of some excellent policing by local officers and ultimately this has prevented a significant amount of drugs from being distributed onto the streets. Criminals like Stoica wrongly believe they can operate with impunity.

"We are showing time and time again that the reality is that drug dealers who try and operate in this town can expect a robust response and ultimately a prison sentence."
