POLICE are appealing for witnesses to an accident on the A21 in which a 17-year-old pedestrian from Tunbridge Wells was seriously injured.
The incident happened at about 1.20am on Sunday when a blue Toyota Corolla was in collision with the teenager on the northbound carriageway around half a mile beyond the Kippings Cross roundabout.
He was taken to Kent and Sussex Hospital with serious head injuries. His condition was later described as serious but stable.
Police would like to speak to any other motorist who witnessed the incident or saw the young man as he was walking along the carriageway.
PC Kevin Savill said: “Although it was late at night, there may have been other vehicles in the area who might have seen someone walking along the road. It is thought that the teenager made his way onto the A21 from the Hastings Road, Pembury.”
PC Savill can be contacted at Tunbridge Wells police station on 01892 511055.
