Teenager killed in head-on crash

A TEENAGER has died in a head-on collision between two cars on a road that has already claimed several lives.

The 18-year-old, who has not yet been named but lived in Tunbridge Wells, died in the accident on the A21 Hastings Road at Lamberhurst Quarter on Wednesday night.

The dead man was driving towards Tunbridge Wells when his Ford Fiesta was involved in an accident with a VW Passat travelling in the opposite direction. Firefighters had to cut the man's body from the wreckage of the car. The 56-year-old driver of the VW, who also had to be cut free from her car, was not seriously injured.

Witnesses to the accident which happened at 9pm, are asked to contact PC Gary Hastings at Cranbrook Police Station on 01892 502127.
