THE jury considering its verdict in the Terry Edmonds body-in-the-suitcase murder trial has been sent home for a second night.

Judge Paul Worsley, QC, sent the nine women and three men out at Maidstone Crown Court shortly before 3pm on Tuesday.

Homeless Philip Bell, 22, denies killing 17-year-old Terry after she disappeared on April 17, Bank Holiday Monday, last year.

During the trial, which started on April 23, Bell was accused of sexually assaulting and strangling Terry and then leaving her body in a suitcase hidden under a ramp at a car park next to Tunbridge Wells train station.

He was shown on CCTV just two seconds behind the victim at the station. There was then a "lost hour" during which the victim, who lived at nearby Calverley Hill hostel, went missing.
