Nearly 3,000 people from across the country headed to Tunbridge Wells at the weekend for a majorly muddy obstacle course.
The Major Series, hosted by British Military Fitness (BMF), took place on Saturday at Eridge Park.
Now in its eighth season, the course, which was named the Best Trail Race in the 2014 Running Awards, welcomed participants of all abilities to take on over 20 famous obstacles.
These included mud crawls, a 50m water slide, a log carry, barbed wire crawls and a cargo net climb all set up along a 5km or 10km course.
Over 40 BMF troops were on hand to help and encourage the runners around the course, which saw Claire Miller, who was recently crowned the winner in the BBC's Special Forces - Ultimate Hell Week, take first place in the female race.
Dan Clark took first place with a time of 53 minutes and 36 seconds in the male race.
Alex Stanley, head of events for BMF, said: "The Major Series South was a fantastic, extremely muddy event, which saw over 2,700 people race to the finish.
"This was a large increase in participants from last year’s event and we are definitely seeing more and more people get the confidence to try challenges such as this.
"What is great about the Major Series is there are two courses, with the 5km race great for first time obstacle course racers and a 10km course for those wanting to push themselves further. It was fantastic to see so many happy faces come across the finish line and the feedback from participants has been really positive.
"In the coming weeks we will be launching our new look Major Series which promises to bring participants an even bigger and better experience.”
The Major Series will be returning to Tunbridge Wells on Saturday, April 9.
