A photography exhibition depicting the doomed passenger liner, Titanic, has hit great success with the public.
Titanic in Photographs opened at Royal Victoria Place, Tunbridge Wells, on Saturday, July 23.
In its month-long residency at the shopping centre, more than 232,000 visitors enjoyed the collection of photographs and memorabilia from the most famous passenger ship in history.
The artefacts finished their run in Kent on Saturday, and will now tour South America and the USA.
On its opening weekend alone, the exhibition welcomed more than 16,000 people to take a trip back in time.
The final day was so busy in fact, that it contributed to a 32% increase in footfall at the shopping complex.
Four different locations were selected around the shopping centre, which included 100 large-scale photographs that guided people through the story of the ship.
Marc Burchett, marketing manager of Royal Victoria Place, said: "The Titanic in Photographs exhibition has proved to be hugely popular and has exceeded all our expectations.
"The feedback we have received from so many visitors has been amazing with many commenting that they found it to be both fascinating and very emotive.
"This has been one of our biggest and best exhibitions staged here at Royal Victoria Place and we are delighted and proud to have been able to bring this very unique exhibition to both Tunbridge Wells and Kent this summer."
To honour those who lost their lives on-board and in the freezing ocean once the ship had sunk, the mayor and mayoress of Tunbridge Wells visited on Thursday, August 11, and laid a floral tribute on behalf of the citizens of Tunbridge Wells.
Councillor David Neve, mayor of Tunbridge Wells, said: "It was a pleasure to see this and we were honoured to be there at such a memorable and moving exhibit."
