The location saw off fellow royal cities, including Leamington Spa and Windsor in a vote.

The game will see around 30 leading Royal Tunbridge Wells landmarks replacing the famous Monopoly addresses like Mayfair and Park Lane.
Now the public are being invited to pick the landmarks that could appear in the game as well as suggest Royal Tunbridge Wells themed Chance and Community Chest playing cards.
So far suggestions include the historic Pantiles, King Charles The Martyr Church and one of the town’s very many spa places, which could land on the famous Water Works.
Games executive at Winning Moves UK, Robert Osborne said: “We want to hear from the public – that’s both serious and fun suggestions. For example, as very many of the Chance and Community Chest playing cards will be Royal Tunbridge Wells themed, one could maybe send players back three spaces for getting stuck in Royal Tunbridge Wells’ notorious traffic bottlenecks! Or another send players to Tonbridge instead of the jail!.”
The game is set to hit shop shelves this October.
Mayor of Tunbridge Wells, cllr David Neve said: “I am so honoured as the first citizen of the borough to welcome Monopoly players to Royal Tunbridge Wells. As a young lad I spent many hours playing Monopoly , I never got bored.
“Locals will definitely have their views about what landmarks should feature. Perhaps they’ll be on track if they suggest one of the train stations in the town or maybe they will spring into action and suggest the spa water at the Pantiles.”
Send votes or suggestions to Monopoly Royal Tunbridge Wells Edition, Winning Moves UK, 7 Praed Street, London W2 1NP. Alternatively email rtw@winningmoves.co.uk. The poll closes at 23.59pm March 31.
