Phyliss made her wish as someone who loved Christmas and played Michael Bublé every year in her home.

Elizabeth Penman-Green, the home's wellbeing coordinator, said: "The afternoon was a wonderful tribute to our late friend Phyllis and a magical start to the Christmas celebrations filled with fun, music, laughter and love.

"Listening to Michael Bublé was the moment she felt most Christmassy. Her favourite memories were wrapping presents to the sound of his voice."

Adding to the special day, residents from Iden Manor, another local nursing home, surprised the residents of Birkin Lodge.

With the day in full swing, residents and staff danced and sang to all the Bublé classics, including ‘White Christmas’ which was voted the favourite among residents.
