Friends of a popular artist who made sculptures from tin cans have paid tribute after he was found dead yesterday.
Patrick Sylva, 50, was found at his flat in Tunbridge Wells yesterday morning. His death is not being treated as suspicious.
It is reported that he killed himself close to the anniversary of the death of his daughter, Jolaine, who hanged herself six years ago, aged 16.
Mr Sylva has been described by those who knew him as the life and soul of the party, who loved to dance.
Samantha Julia Page said: "Such sad news, RIP Patrick. I still have my tin can singer you made for me. I hope you have found peace my friend."
Another friend, Jennifer Burville, added: "I just can't believe this news, you are such a beautiful man, so musical and inspiring, will keep my Guinness can drummer forever, loves you and miss you soooooo bloody much. Rest in peace darling."
A spokesman for Kent Police said: "The death is being treated as non-suspicious and a report is being prepared for the coroner. Next of kin have now been made aware."
The case has been referred to the Independent Police Complaints Commission as Mr Sylva made contact with police in the 24 hours before his death.
His next of kin have been informed.
