A Tunbridge Wells man has helped produce a song which he hopes will encourage victims of bullying to speak out.

Jake Steven and Alex Jacquin launched their band, Forever Radio, in 2014 and have since signed a management deal and recorded several original songs with renowned producer, Steve Power.

Earlier this year the duo co-wrote and produced 'Don't Believe The Lies', which they hope will help tackle the ever growing problem of bullying.

Not too long into the band Mr Steven, 22, and Mr Jacquin, 21 - who were both bullied throughout secondary school - decided to encourage victims of bullying to speak out and seek help.

Former Bennet Memorial School pupil Mr Steven said: "We have been writing songs for about a year now and when you write a song it's great to have a concept something people can relate to.

"Bullying is such a big problem and that was the focus for the song. The message was the most important thing. Alex and myself have both been bullied which is a reason why we are so passionate about this.

"My school was great it was just the situation of bullying, because bullying doesn't matter what level or angle it comes from it's horrible. I was on the receiving end of that it was very painful.

"I had death threats, I had cyberbulling online. It was extremely hard but the school dealt with it well."

Forever Radio have shot a music video to go alongside the song, Don't Believe The Lies, and have since been approached by Vodafone, The Diana award Anti-Bullying campaign, as well as an Australian charity named Love Is Louder.

Mr Steven added: "Bullying is something that happens every day, but the whole point of the song is to help people to speak out because if you speak out and you are listened to, which you will be, that's how you get the problem sorted.

"The main message is speak out we will hear you. It gets to the point where people don't want to live on this earth anymore and it's horrifying to think people are made to feel this low.

"The fact I spoke out was a huge breath of relief. I realised how many friends and people around me cared. When the bullying is happening you feel so isolated and alone but there are people who love you and care for you.

"I think one of the most eye-opening things was the fact I felt so low and so hurt I didn't know what to do with myself.

"Alex and I love the song and we really hope it gets the message out there."
