A man accused of killing a work colleague at a rubbish tip in Tunbridge Wells has appeared in court.

David Squelch was charged with murder after father, James Wallington, 44 suffered stab wounds at Cory Environmental Ltd recycling centre in North Farm Lane in March.

The 48-year-old appeared at Maidstone Crown Court this afternoon for a plea and case management hearing.

Wearing a blue and white striped t-shirt, he stood in the dock and pleaded not guilty to murder

Squelch, of Maidstone Road, Paddock Wood was remanded in custody.

He will be tried on August 10 before Judge Philip Statman.

The hearing was originally set to take place at 10am but was delayed when Squelch's barrister became caught up in traffic chaos on the M25.

It was re-scheduled and held at 2pm.
