A voice actor proposed to his girlfriend in a packed cinema using a film he had spent months planning and shooting.

Jas Halsey planned the surprise for girlfriend Charlene Berwick.

The lucky lady thought they were going on a normal date night to the Odeon in Tunbridge Wells.

But Mr Halsey popped the question in front of hundreds of cinema goers.

The five-minute film starts with Mr Halsey waking up in the morning and starting to get ready before sending a text message asking for permission from his future father-in-law to take his daughter's hand in marriage.

When a message comes back saying "go for it" an excited Mr Halsey jumps into his car and drives off towards the cinema.

We won't spoil what happens next, although we're sure you can guess, but it gets a big cheer from everyone in the room.

He posted on his Facebook page: "So, last nights 'date night' wasn't exactly what Charlene had quite expected.

"Months of planning, shooting and sleepless nights all came down to one thing. She said YES!"
